We live in a war-torn world, where millions of people have their lives destroyed by conflict.
Amid the chaos and despair of conflict, the International Committee of the Red Cross is a unique sign of hope to those whose lives have been shattered by war.
Their neutrality gives their staff access to conflict zones where they can save lives and help rebuild them.
However, as the pressure on their resources grows, they need more funds to help the increasing number of men, women, and children worldwide caught in the crossfire of conflict.
Summit Frontier Foundation follows the initiative the Victor Victor Foundation started by matching the monthly recurring donations to several charities, including The International Committee of the Red Cross, The Save the Children Fund, and the Médecins Sans Frontières NGO. While the Victor Victor Foundation focuses on assisting the above charities in the United States of America, the Summit Frontier Foundation helps the European and local offices, which have multiple ongoing projects.
While the Victor Victor Foundation focuses on assisting the American Red Cross, the Summit Frontier Foundation helps the local Romanian Red Cross(Crucea Roșie Română), which has multiple ongoing projects, including rural poverty and the recent refugee crisis in Eastern Europe.
In 2018, Romania ranked as the second-highest EU country for the percentage of its population at risk of poverty and social exclusion. The Romanians living in rural areas include 75% of the country’s impoverished population, and the poverty rate is three times higher than in urban areas. The fact that there are tens of thousands of people poor and malnourished in Romania is unacceptable. The grim reality of severe poverty and its consequences is present, behind the growing economic indices in this country.
The tragic situation in Ukraine already has devastating consequences for the civilian population. It will lead to the widespread destruction of civilian objects, such as water and electricity installations, as well as mass displacement, trauma, separation of families and the disappearance of people.
Crucea Roșie Română intervened urgently with material, human, financial and logistical resources to help the civilian population arriving in Romania, but also to help civilians in need in Ukraine. People caught in the middle of these events need to be supported and protected.
We are more than thankful to have partnered with The International Committee of the Red Cross and Crucea Roșie Română and we hope to raise funds through this public awareness campaign, in order to buy essentials, which will be then supplied to schools, social institutions, hospitals and soup kitchens. Additionally, this foundation will make a $10,000 donation to Crucea Roșie Română to kickstart the efforts of our local campaign to help provide critical resources including basic needs, food, housing and educational tools and programs.
We are proud to work with a team of people who are as thoughtful about these issues as they are committed to doing something about it. If you want to be part of our project, please consider donating to the below charities and foundations.
